Kabir Das

Kabir Das, a poet from the 15th century, conveyed a timeless message of humanism, fraternity, love, harmony, and equality. His words continue to resonate in today’s world, which shares many similarities with his era. Just as then, significant and profound changes are occurring, often evoking feelings of anxiety, fear, strife, and dislocation.

Kabir Bani

बुरा जो देखन मैं चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय ।
जो दिल खोजा आपना, मुझसे बुरा न कोय ।।

When I started to look for evil, I couldn’t find any.  But when I looked into my heart – the source of my problem was right there.”  This bani asks people to focus on improving themselves instead of pointing fingers at others.  Kabir says that when we see something wrong being done, we start to point out fingers and blame people for that.  Instead of looking at others and finding fault, look within your heart – the source of the problem is within you.
